Laying water pipelines under the ground
Water pipelines, which laid down in accordance with technical regulations, can be used for a long time and with maximum efficiency. Each waterline project must start with design development. It can help you to avoid any problems.

- Type of soil.
You should also make a calculation, based on the pipe material, the depth of the laying in the ground and the method of insulation. The depth of laying water pipes is regulated by a special construction standards and regulations. The laying depth depends on pipe material. For example, in Russian midland, where the soil is frozen up to 1.6 m. in winter, the laying depth must be at least 1,8 m. If the weather conditions are colder than in midland, the waterline must be laid deeper. When the waterline has a slope, it’s necessary to calculate water pressure in the system for normal water supply or discharge. At the work site, the water pipe must not intersect with other underground communications. It is necessary to prepare gravel, sand, waterproofing for making a special flooring in trench for the pipes.
Welding metal pipes are making before the laying to the ground. It’s necessary to build a special access gully and mount shutoff cock near residential house’s walls, where the pipes have a special entrance and exit points. For horizontal alignment of pipeline use a mechanic's level. Sometimes, due to soils’ special characteristics, it is not possible to excavate the trench to sufficient depth manually. In this case it’s necessary to take care of pipe insulation before laying it under ground.
Choose the material for insulation in accordance with the following factors:
- The insulation should be durable and easy to use
- The insulation must be non-combustible material
- The insulation must ensure good tightness of the coating and joints.
Firstly, the installed waterline is tested within 24 hours. If there are no any problems, the pipes are covered with waterproofing, insulation and covered. Near the problem area, it’s necessary to build special hatches for providing the access.
